The hitmaker recently parted ways with Polydor, his label six years have confirmed that their third record will be released on September 26.

Writing on his twitter page, he said: "OK, so the news is out! My third album, The Awakening, is out Sept 26 (sic)."

James recently admitted some of it deliberately for their third album of music he had learned about "trying to forget" was, as he wanted it to return to his roots and not produce something a record which is not too over-commercial.

He told BANG Showbiz: "It's my favourite piece of work so far, I tried to forget what I'd learned before and do what I wanted to do in the first place, but I didn't have any experience to do.

"So I made an album that felt real and not over-commercial and tried to just write good songs."

Singer James Morrison's father Paul Catchpole 60 years old died of disease liver after a 20 years battle with alchohol. His body was discovered by paramedics in his squalid flat surrounded. A post mortem report was revealed he had drank so much, his liver was filled up into the fat. The inquest at Coventry Coroner's Court was told, "Paul had been drinking ‘continually’ for six months before his death".

Nicky Catchpole 42 years old, James older sister told, "My dad went through phases of being on benders and then totally straight. The most recent bender before he died was the worst one he ever had. He was on a drinking binge for six months. It was continual drinking from morning until night and not eating."

Coventry and Warwickshire coroner Sean McGovern said: "Alcohol is a legal drug and you drink alcohol and if it causes you death that is natural causes. This is something that has occurred over a period of time. The impression I get is that Mr Catchpole was drinking to excess over a period of time. The liver doesn't work as well as it should because it is gradually turning into fat and that changes over time and can cause death as it has here."

Paul worked as a painter and decorator, down James' mum Suzy when he was four years old. Months before the tragedy the 26-year-old said he rang his dad every week to ‘check he's still alive’.

Months before Paul died, James said: ‘He's an alcoholic but he's a sweetheart, really. He copes with problems the only way he knows how."

FORCED to walk around in the drizzling rain on a bleak Tuesday afternoon, James Morrison makes for a rather sorry sight, even if he is having his footage taken in front of the grand pile that is Harewood House.
He's here to stake out the joint out ahead in the graond of his imminent gig of Leeds's most famous noble home, but couldn't have picked a worst day to do a photoshoot."It's not a problem, man," he laughs, brushing the rain from his hair. "They've put me through a hell of a lot worse making videos over the years, ya know, standing for eight hours in temperatures of minus 15 for eight hours without any long johns."They never appear to send me anywhere warm. It's either somewhere or Iceland or London or Canada, then they film me being thrown into a freezing tank of water or something. And wherever I go it it isn't always as beautiful as this place."Morrison drinks in the stunning view that is the Harewood estate. Now I look out at my shows and its everyone from students to older couples, little kids, single people, which is great."I'm lucky in that they're all actually cool people who are into their music. But I am also conscious of being viewed as a bit middle of the road and I think my last album veered that way a bit, it lost its edge compared to the first album so I'm trying to do something change again with the third one."Morrison has also suffered slightly from being lumped in with other male solo artists with a similarly uplifting, radio friendly sound. From Paolo Nutini to James Blunt, the comparisons are easy, if not always fair. But he counts himself lucky to have been one of the first to emerge."When I first came along it was just before an influx of singer/songwriters came out," he says. "It just went mental for a while and there was always thatcomparison, which I understand."And every artist wonders about their success was it me or was my timing just good? And I think it's a bit of both really. I benefited from releasing my first batch of stuff in the summertime which always helps if you have that kind of sound."But I don't ever worry too much about how long I'll be around for. Every artist is conscious of it, of course they are, but you have to do what comes naturally and hope for the best. You can't try and force things a different way."There will be one slight difference on the next album: subject matter. The Rugby born singer now has a two year old daughter, Elsie, by his relationship with long-term partner Gill and admits it's been a thought provoking process of adjusting to being a family man as well as a rock star.He says: "Yeah, sometimes I fell like I should be 35, so much has happened to me. I've had to grow up a lot because on the first album I tried to go out and carry on having a good time, but my voice and my performance suffered."It feels like I've had an awakening of some kind and the last four years have definitely been a rollercoaster ride. I feel like a family man but if I get the opportunity to live it up on tour I do," he laughs, "so don't get me wrong."But I only get to do that because I go away a lot. I was in LA for two weeks and, even though it killed me being away from my daughter, at least I got some lie-ins and went to some bars and met some cool people. I admit I enjoy myself more than most people with kids."So he doesn't feel too fatigued by fame?"Oh no, it's not actually hard for me when it all comes down to it. I have a job I really enjoy and I get paid well and can give my family a nice home, buy my mum a car, I feel really privileged."Yes, it's hard to be away. But there's guys in the army who go away fighting, not knowing if they're coming back, that's the way I try to look at it."It's been tough keeping my relationship strong when I'm away, you come back and expect it to be good still and, you know, I've had problems with all that sort of stuff."But I now have a stronger sense of who I am. Having a kid has made me think about myself and about my upbringing, so I've tried to write songs about my dad, my brother, the birth of my daughter but nothing too obvious 'cos that would be just sickening."But whatever direction subject matter takes him in, fans of tunes like Broken Strings – Morrison's biggest hit to date – needn't expect a similar vibe to his new material.He says: "That was a one-off. It was something totally change, likely because it was me dueting with Nelly Furtado and stuff like that can just actually work and stuff but there's no use trying to repeat it."When I was working on the new album I had writers coming in and they were suggesting all these really big beats and I was like 'No! That's not what I want' they were trying to do the same kinda Broken Strings thing again."But that's a bit forced and I just want to do what comes to me. It's good to try new things and you're always gonna get some good songs and some not so good songs coming out but what matters it you do what comes naturally to you."But there's one aspect to becoming a hugely popular singer/songwriter that will never feel natural to Morrison – that's hearing his songs performed on TV shows like X Factor and Britain's Got Talent."There's a bit of me that always cringes when I hear someone singing You Give Me Something or whatever it is," he laughs. ROBERTO Di Matteo has conceded that James Morrison is still some way from returning after revealing the extent of his injury nightmare.
The Albion midfielder has been out of action for six months due to dreadful complications to what was initially a heel blister.
Morrison, who is resting in the north east, should have been sidelined for a relatively short time but a series of setbacks, including major infection, forced him to abort his return to training and ruined his hopes of a swift comeback.
The head coach was unable to offer specific details of his medical treatment or the procedures involved.
But I understand the Scotland international was, at one point, taken to hospital for emergency treatment to his foot and forced to have areas of infection removed to allow the skin to start healing properly.
Because of this process, Morrison’s estimated time of recovery has been difficult to judge and even the simplest of tasks, such as wearing boots, has proved impossible.
Di Matteo admitted he was still no nearer knowing when Morrison would be ready to resume training.
“His frame of mind is one of frustration,” Di Matteo told the Birmingham Mail. “He’s been out for so long for that kind of injury.
“With a cruciate injury you understand it’ll be seven or eight months but with James you don’t know whether it’ll be one week, two weeks, three weeks, two months or whatever – you cannot put a timescale on it.
“I’ve never seen it before but it’s a very complicated and difficult part of the body. He went to see specialists and consultants and they told us it’s a difficult injury from that respect.”
Morrison has been relatively inactive due to the nature of the injury.
But Di Matteo is confident the player will be able to return to his appropriate fitness levels once he’s ready to resume training.
“He cannot cycle, he cannot run,” he added. “He can’t even swim. He’s a professional footballer and knows that sooner or later – hopefully sooner – he will have to get back into training and that should drive him to keep in good shape as much as he can.”

The youngster has neuroblastoma a rare form of childhood cancer and been given just a opportunity of 20% surviving the next two years.
Jaime and Perry his mum and dad, of Mackworth, are now trying to raise £300,000 to send him to New York for immunotherapy treatment.
The team behind the appeal have decided to use a song from James' latest album, called Once When I Was Little, on a video being made to raise awareness of Lewis's story.

He said: "I'm actually glad to support and help publicise the Lewis Mighty Fund in this way.
"Lewis's story is one of immense bravery and determination and actually struck a chord with me, not only because of my links to the Derby area but because I now have a child of my own."

Te Papaiouru marae will resonate with tributes to Sir Howard Morrison today as local entertainers pay their respects before his funeral tomorrow.
Morrison whanau spokesman Monty Morrison said entertainers including Frankie Stevens, Jackie Clarke, Tina Cross and Russell Harrison would sing at 2pm today.
He said a karakia would be held at 7pm followed by a late evening performance on a floodlit stage on the marae by Te Arawa kapa haka pairs.
Crowds began gathering at the marae at the weekend to mourn the passing of Sir Howard last Thursday. Wave upon wave of people, numbering well over 1000 yesterday, continued to arrive at Te Arawa's premier marae on Lake Rotorua's waterfront.
Among them was Wi Wharekura, the only surviving member of the original Howard Morrison Quartet.
Mr Wharekura, who had travelled from his home on the Australian Gold Coast, had a friendly dig at his longtime mate.
He said story had it that Sir Howard kept one eye on the road and the other on himself in his rear sight mirror as he was driving. Or he'd take over from the car radio.
"You'd be listening to the radio and Louis Armstrong would come on and he'd turn it off and do it himself," said Mr Wharekura.
"If it was Sammy Davis Jnr he would switch him off too ... he was the best of the best and the thing is that he told himself that he was.
"People would ask me what kind of a fella was he when he was young and I'd say he was a bloody pain in the arse! He was brimming with self confidence. He once said he had a fan club and it only had one member, 'me"'.
Mr Wharekura said he was approached by Sir Howard to join his troupe in 1957.
The would-be schoolteacher was in two minds until he heard he would be paid £350 ($700) a week and have all his expenses paid for the year. "I just said, 'Okay, mate where do I sign?"'
Deputy Prime Minister Bill English said the entertainer had characteristics most politicians would love to have.
"He was popular," said Mr English to great laughter.
About 5000 people are expected at tomorrow's service for Sir Howard.
Mr Morrison said large television screens would be placed near the marae for those without access.
After a public ecumenical service in front of Tamatekapua, his casket will be taken to St Faith's Church in front of the marae for a brief period of prayer by whanau and invited guests.
Sir Howard will buried on the slopes of Mt Ngongotaha.

Lynford James Morrison, of the 400 block of North 21st Street, was catched on an provoked assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill charge following the 11:12 p.m. Wednesday incident.
Morrison’s wife told police she invited her son to the home for dinner. She said when Morrison learned her son was in the house, Morrison retrieved a machete and chased him out. The wife accused Morrison of threatening to cut her son.
The son told police he was “afraid for his life” and grabbed some pruning shears to defend himself.
No physical contact occurred. The machete wasn’t recovered.
Morrison was catched and taken to the St. Lucie County jail

Rather than if it's a actual bad atmosphere because it's raining and the people have directed all their present at the music in an analytical way, rather than just enjoying it for what it is, you know. "I'd like to be able to do it rapidly because that's sometimes the best way clobber comes but I don't wanna rush. I'd rather cease than come back out with a c**p album."

Roberto Di Matteo announce that Albion’s midfielder was still no nearer to recovering from a foot injury.
The Scotland international needed surgery after a blister became infected, causing complications.
Di Matteo expressed his disappointment.
“James Morrison is hushed out and I can’t give a date on him,” he said. “I don’t think somebody thought it would take this long.
“It’s difficult to explain the problem and I’m not a doctor. It started off as a blister and it got infected and from there it’s a long story. It’s not good news for the player or for us because he is an important player for us.”

Whether it's unfortunate timing, bad luck or simply a sound that can't be easily pigeonholed, your heart breaks a little when you watch performers such as James Morrison, who delighted an adoring crowd at the Granada Theater on Thursday night.

The question just wouldn't disappear: Why isn't he more popular?

Could it be that his electric, eclectic style slip-slides across several genres? R&B, soul, pop, folk, blues and even a bit of funk dapple Morrison's plaintive, potent tunes.

Powered by his smoky, honeyed rasp, this Brit easily plays the dual roles of sensitive balladeer and raucous showman. Garrulous and cheerfully profane, his easy rapport with the audience could turn on a dime into haunting introspection.

While many of the best moments were slow, almost still, excavations of the soul, Morrison, clad in a boho vest and black trousers and backed by a sharp four-piece band and a pair of backup singers, mostly mined his latest album, Songs for You, Truths for Me, which skews a bit more pop.

If Morrison could simply bottle the adulation displayed at the Granada on Thursday, he'd be a global superstar instead of an immensely talented, frustratingly little-known artist toiling away in relative obscurity. But perhaps he had a gut feeling how his career might unfold before his first album ever hit the shelves.

The title of his 2006 debut? Undiscovered.

James Morrison (born James Morrison Catchpole in 1984) is a singer/songwriter from Rugby, Warwickshire, England. He says that his musical influences include Al Green, Otis Redding, Cat Stevens and the Kinks.

At 13 Morrison began to learn guitar when his uncle showed him how to play a blues riff. He started busking when he lived at Porth near Newquay, in Cornwall. After years of playing other musicians’ songs, he eventually started to write his own.

Polydor Productions took charge and signed him. He became the supporting artist for Corinne Bailey Rae on her tour supporting her debut album.

In 2006 he debuted with his single You Give Me Something which became a hit single around Europe and Japan. It reached the #2 spot in Holland and the #5 spot in the UK. And James proves that he isn’t a one-hit-wonder - his debut album Undiscovered went straight to #1 in the UK and has sold more than 500,000 copies world wide.

The second single released from the album is “Wonderful World,” which has already been a top 10 hit in the UK reaching the #8 spot.

He is set to be the opening act, along with Nylon and Jesse McCartney, on chart topping girl band Joie’s forthcoming arena tour. He also performed at the 2006 V Festival. He was due to only play one of the smaller tents but, due to the amount of people wanting to get into the tent, he had a ten-minute set on the main stage before Hard-Fi came on (Hylands Park).
